Who is Garth?

Okay - let's start with THIS picture (the first portrait drawn of the character).  

Just to confirm, Garth is pointing with his right arm (it had not been cut off...).  The picture was drawn one morning after an all-night gaming session (by my friend, Doug).  It took only a couple of minutes to draw, but I loved it as soon as it was finished.  To me, it embodies the nature of the character.  

Garth's was born into the middle class, and had a good childhood, but came upon hard times when he became of age. The picture shows him at a time when he was mid-level.  He was missing his right eye, and he was used to taking a beating on a regular basis, but his posture and stance show the passion and spirit of the underdog - one who may not always win, but who will never quit or give up ("not while the flame of freedom burns in my breast!").
